About the Builders

Wherigo cartridges are created using one of several available Wherigo builder applications. These applications assist users through the cartridge creation process by providing the tools users need.

Which Builder Is Right For Me?

It depends on what you're comfortable with and what you're trying to do. Each builder excels in different things. For example, if you like a visual, flow-based interface, look into Urwigo. If you're just starting out and want to create a basic cartridge by putting pins on a map, look into Wherigo\\kit. Try the different builders to see which is right for you.

What Is The Cost?

All Wherigo builders listed in this section are offered free of charge and do not include advertising. All but Groundspeak's builder have been developed by the community, for the community, but for noncommercial use. All the authors ask for in exchange is you use their builders to create some awesome cartridges.

How Do I Get Started?

The fastest way to get started is by looking for an open source cartridge, downloading it, and opening it within one of the Wherigo builders. First, bring up the builder's emulator and play through the cartridge to see what it's like. Once you've done so, look over the cartridge in the builder to learn how it works. (Note: Wherigo\\kit does not support editing open source cartridges in this way. However, some examples of complete cartridges are available on its site.)

Also, those who created the builders are on the forum, so you might even get your question answered by the builder's creator!
